Day 20: Calvi

Campsite Bella Vista, three-star

(Location: Route de Pietramaggiore, 20260 CALVI; Flat grounds with sporadic pines. The toilet bowls are, for some of them, in mint condition. However, in off season the campsite's bar is closed.)

To park our car in Calvi was complicated. Moreover, if you come at the same time of a ferry boat disembarkation, it is worse.

In front of the citadel, the parking cost 3€ but your time was limited to one hour and thirty minutes. Luckily, we found free parking at rue Albert 1er, 300 metres from the Citadel.

You must go round the Citadel, and see fortifications. The old town is made up of many narrow and steep streets and will make you forget about the harbour’s activity.

Calvi's beach isn't very big but crowded. However, you've a splendid view of the Tower from the beach. Trains run close to the beach and even has a stop there. So, you must be careful then when you go to the beach.
